
Alan Johnston, an Idaho Falls native, joined the law firm in August 2007 and was admitted to the Idaho State Bar in September of 2007. Alan
graduated from the University of Idaho College of Law where he made honor role 5 of his 6 semesters. While at law school, Alan worked as a teaching
assistant for the Legal Research and Writing Professors, teaching the first year law students. Alan also volunteered time in the schools Legal Aid Clinic working in Immigration, Indian, and Criminal law. Alan’s other legal experience before joining the firm includes a summer associate position with the Idaho Falls firm
of Hopkins Roden Crockett Hansen & Hoopes, as well as a clerkship for the Honorable Judge James C. Herndon in Blackfoot, ID.
Alan’s practice areas include criminal defense, family law, general litigation, personal injury, real property, wills and trusts.
Prior to Law School, Alan attended Brigham Young University- Idaho where he graduated in History with minors in Communications and Education. Alan
was involved in student government, and was the director of New Student Orientation. Alan’s main focus while in undergraduate school was his participation
with the University Debate and Speech team where he won numerous national honors.
Alan attended Idaho Falls High School, and presently is living on the west side of town. While attending BYU-Idaho, he married Patricia Johnston. They
have two children named Ryan and Mari. While not working, Alan is involved with various church activities, Boy Scouts, and his family. He also enjoys
social activities, camping, and sports.
